  • Analytics: We use PostHog on our website to understand traffic patterns, referral sources, and app store CTA interactions.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 The Movie Database (TMDB)

Matinee uses the TMDB API to provide movie data, including titles, descriptions, posters, ratings, cast and crew information, and other metadata. All movie data, images, and related content are provided by TMDB and are subject to their Terms of Use.

4.2 Supabase

We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure for authentication, database storage, and real-time features. Your data is stored securely on Supabase's servers. Please refer to Supabase's Privacy Policy for more information about their data practices.

4.3 Vercel and PostHog

Our website is hosted on Vercel. We use PostHog to collect website usage analytics, including page views, referral source information, and app store CTA interactions, so we can improve the website and understand acquisition channels. PostHog may store a cookie and/or use localStorage in your browser to maintain session state for these analytics purposes.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following cases:

  • With Your Consent: When you explicitly agree to share information, such as sending movie recommendations to friends.
  • Social Features: Your username, movie ratings, reviews, and activity may be visible to your friends on the platform. Non-friends will see anonymized reviews.
